ALL police traffic is currently encrypted. The FD has also been encrypted on the dispatch channel. Fireground is still in the clear.
The "chirping" sound is Motorola's ADP encryption and *not* distorted audio. The police channels are not locked out as
Raspberry Pi. The scanner is a Uniden Bearcat BCD396T. Broadcasting all City of McKinney Police, Fire, and EMS talkgroups. Audio is being routed through a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) to minimize the objectional encryption sounds.
