Welcome to South Bay Scanner. This feed's coverage area includes fire dispatch audio happening in the South Bay region of the Los Angeles basin for the following cities/areas:
- El Segundo Fire Department
- Los Angeles County Fire Department (Blue 1): Avalon, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Lawndale, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates
- Los Angeles County Fire Department/Lifeguard (V-14 Direct): Southern Section: Headquartered at the Hermosa Beach Pier, service is provided from the Southern jetty of Marina Del Rey to San Pedro
- Manhattan Beach Fire Department
- Redondo Beach Fire Department
- Torrance Fire Department
Please note, we are also monitoring the old (depreciated) police/fire frequencies now called "Access" channels. Most of the South Bay police/fire agencies converted to a new, encrypted radio system in late 2019, which we are not able to monitor. Even though those "Access" channels are quiet 99% of the time, there are two main reasons those frequencies will become temporarily active:
- When there is an incident occurring and a South Bay agency is requesting assistance from an outside agency that is not able to communicate on the new ICI radio system.
- When the ICI radio system goes down for maintenance, the Access frequencies get utilized as a backup dispatch system.
