154.340 - Walton County Fire Rescue / EMS Dispatch - This is a VHF in-the-clear simulcast of the encrypted Walton County Digitial TRS talkgroup 35109 (I know, it makes no sense) which was kept active.. Walton county switched from an analog TRS to a P25 digital TRS in December, 2008 and all public safety talkgroups were encrypted per a decision made by Walton County Central Communications. Per Director Wendra Williams, "This radio system was not purchased for secrecy. It is a benefit for safety officers."
Note, sometimes the link between the TRS and VHF screws up and you will only hear the dispatch side of the conversations. It usually takes them days, weeks or months to notice it and correct it.
