At times we may stream other area ham radio related Nets or events deemed of interest to the hobby and community. This stream is strictly for hobby use and is not involved with any for-profit entity.
"Amateur radio transmissions are inherently public and regulated by the FCC, which states there is no expectation of privacy on these frequencies (47 CFR §97.113). Whether someone hears them over the air or through a third-party stream like Broadcastify, the content remains publicly accessible.
As long as the stream complies with FCC rules—meaning it’s non-commercial, doesn’t retransmit prohibited content, and doesn't interfere with the operation of the station—it’s perfectly legal. Broadcastify and similar platforms simply provide wider access to what's already freely available to anyone with a receiver.
Streaming can actually promote the hobby, showcase emergency communications, and educate newcomers who don’t yet have radios. The key is that the amateur service is for public benefit, and streaming aligns with that spirit when done within the rules."
