We just wanted to provide a little more of a clear-cut update on the current status of the feed. We’ve ultimately decided that it is within the public's best interest to discontinue this broadcastify page.

Originally this feed was created with good intentions; our vision at the start was to provide a valuable source of information during incidents that could have an impact on your lives and to provide some form of transparency with needing to know what was happening locally. However, as time has gone on, we’ve started to realize that there are lots of bad faith actors and people who abuse this privilege severely. Recently we’ve discovered several social media pages that use our feed to leak information to members of the public on places like Facebook or to show up on emergency scenes just to be a nuisance or to take videos and photos; again, we weren’t planning for this, nor did we want this to occur. This scanner was created with the intention of helping people stay informed of major incidents that could impact daily life, not for people seeking to post victims’ private information like addresses on social media, nor was it created for nosy neighbors.

For the honorable listeners and scanners who have been with this page since day one and people who have been using it with better good intentions, we wish to thank you for listening, and we wish to apologize. And to the bad-faith actors that continue to contribute to the downfall of these radio feeds, we sincerely hope you realize that you are a part of the issue.

To any department or agency that has been impacted by the reckless behavior of others using this feed, or has had their operations hampered in relation to the feed, we wish to sincerely apologize for enabling this, as it was not our original intention.
