Frequently Asked Questions

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Question: Why can I not hear TAC (Tactical Channels) or other police operations?

Answer: To comply with Broadcastify's terms of service, federal and state laws along with the Federal Communication Commision's regulations we do not include tactical, special ops or other channels in this feed. Many police scanners now adays are not able to pick up these channels as manufactors have to follow FCC regulations.

Question: I have been listening for a few minutes now and I dont hear any sound/transmissions. Do I need to report it?

Answer: This feed covers dispatch channels for various college/university police departments; mostly these channels are just used for routine transmsisions as much of the transmissions/talking take place on other channels that we can not hear. If you do not hear naything for over a hour please report it so it can be addressed promptly.

Question: When is the best time to listen?

Answer: Due to the various agencies that are provided on this feed the best time to listen is during the day. Each agency has different duties so you may not hear many transmissions at certen points of the day or during the year.

Question: I hear gaps in transmissions and conversations. Is this normal?

Answer: Currently you may hear gaps in transmissions and/or miss some transmissions as I do not have software that can capture multiple transmissions at one time.
