** Please Note: Due to the way the system is set up, during FD and EMS Pageouts you will hear an "echo". This is due to the EMS pages being simulcast on the P25 Fire/EMS Dispatch channel while FD pages are not. In order to allow you to hear FD pages, I have installed an analog scanner feeding into the right channel. All pages come through the analog scanner. The EMS pages come through the digital scanner about 1/2 second behind the analog signal, so it sounds like an "echo". There is nothing I can do about this right now as the streaming software does not have a provision to delay/sync one channel to the other. The levels are set so that the digital signal comes through louder and swamps the other scanner, so you should be able to understand what is being said. This ONLY affects pageouts, as the actual event traffic is handled on a P25 TAC channel. If you use the ScannerRadio app, you can pan to the LEFT channel if you don't want to hear the analog feed.
This feed is monitoring the Kansas Statewide Interoperational Communications System (KSICS), Hays site. This is an APCO P25 (Phase 1) system. Audio is fed from a RadioShack Pro-197 Digital scanner. Server computer is a Dell Optiplex FX-170 Thin Client, running a modified version of Windows XP and powered by a battery backed power supply.

** PLEASE NOTE: There are Talkgroups labeled TAC on this feed. These are NOT "Tactical" channels, and their inclusion DOES NOT violate the feed provider agreement. This county uses them as "Event" and "Fireground" channels for all Fire and EMS calls and some police/SO events. Tactical and other sensitive traffic is handled on other encrypted channels.
This feed also includes Kansas Highway Patrol Troop D Event talkgroups in order to provide coverage of events that cross into or out of Ellis County. Due to these talkgroups you may occasionally hear event traffic from other parts of the state. KHP Dispatch is NOT included in this feed.
