444.400 KB9TZS repeater in Springfield, IL.- Elmer Net held every Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm CST; hear Central Illinois Skywarn when severe weather nets are called standby or active, and radio traffic public service events. Eff: 12/28/18

The 444.4 local amateur radio repeater is used for a number of area of public service events. When these events take place active nets are called on the air were a net control operator will control the radio traffic. 

An Elmer Net is hosted on this repeater to answer questions that new amateur operators or old operators may have may have, share information and news on upcoming events, in addition to normal amateur radio traffic. 

Central Illinois Skywarn is a group of Weather Spotters who use amateur radio while weather spotting to communicate their observations in real time.  This is the repeater used when members use as severe weather enters the area, and members go into standby and or active net mode. The repeater is located in - just west of I-55 at the 100 mm exit in Springfield, Illinois. (Between Dirksen Pkwy & I-55 and South of Sangamon Ave) The coverage of this repeater includes not the outlying Illinois counties of Cass, Christian, DeWitt, Logan, Macon, Macoupin, Menard, Morgan and Montgomery.
