East Hartford is located in central Connecticut, covering 18 square miles with a population of 50,000.
The East Hartford Fire Department employs 133 uniformed personnel.  We have 5 stations housing 5 paramedic engines, 2 ladders, 1 heavy rescue, and a state of the art fire/rescue/paramedic boat.

EHFD responded to some 11,000 calls in 2019.
